Life Together Quote #31

From Chapter Three, The Day Alone.

Where a family lives close together in a constricted space and the individual does not have the quietness he needs, regular times of quiet are absolutely necessary. After a time of quiet we meet others in a different and fresh way. Many a household fellowship will be able to provide for the individual's need to be alone, and thus preserve the fellowship itself from injury, only by adopting a regular order.

  1. Ah, this reminds me of my sister (the older one). Several times she told me before that it seems that whenever she comes home, she just doesn't have any personal quiet time to read the bible or do daily devotionals. When she wakes up, we just go straight into her room and talk with her etc. instead of waiting for her to do her own things first. I dunno about now, but at that time she said she felt closer to God when she was away from home, and felt farther from Him when she was with us. (I...did not respond well to her comment, which is something I need to work on (self control!))

But yeah, quiet times are necessary. I think this is something I should talk about with my family.
